1. Informational Purposes Only (Not Medical Advice)
The content provided by UnwrapTruth, including nutritional data, dietary alignments, allergen warnings, and ingredient analysis, is generated for informational purposes only.
This application is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It does NOT guarantee that any food product is safe for you to consume. Cross-contamination in manufacturing facilities is always possible. Always read the physical label on the product and consult with a healthcare professional if you have severe allergies or medical conditions.
2. AI & Data Limitations
UnwrapTruthsynthesizes data using Open Food Facts and Google, Meta & NVIDIA multi-modal AI models.
Accuracy Not Guaranteed: AI models can hallucinate. Packaging formulations change frequently. We make no warranties regarding 100% accuracy of ingredients, Nutri-Score, or NOVA groups.
Direct Label Photo OCR Limitations: Transcriptions from un-barcoded foods (bakery items, deli counters, bulk foods) depend on lighting, image sharpness, and packaging curvature. Always read the physical printed label.
Local Device Storage ("Clean Pantry"): Scan history and pantry favorites reside solely on your client device (
localStorage). UnwrapTruth has no custody of your local device data and is not liable for data loss from clearing browser storage.
3. User Conduct
You agree to use the application only for lawful, personal purposes. You may not:
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or overload our AI or database APIs.
Upload explicit, non-food, copyrighted, or malicious imagery to the camera or OCR scanner.
Rely on the app for emergency medical choices, anaphylaxis prevention, or clinical diagnoses.
4. Commercial & Affiliate Disclosure (FTC Compliance)
To keep UnwrapTruth 100% free and open to all consumers without paywalls or intrusive banner ads, our Healthier Clean Alternatives engine participates in affiliate marketing programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program.
When you view clean product swaps and click external affiliate purchase links, we may earn an affiliate referral commission at no extra cost to you. All clean swap recommendations are determined purely algorithmically using objective nutritional standards (NOVA group, Nutri-Score, seed oil absence, and additive risk), not by brand sponsorships.
